Function and effect
Support pipeline weight: The most basic function of the pipeline support is to bear the weight of the pipeline and its internal media, insulation layer, etc., to prevent the pipeline from sagging or deformation due to its own weight, to ensure the correct position and direction of the pipeline in space, and to maintain the normal operation of the pipeline system.
Limiting pipeline displacement: In addition to spring supports and partial sliding and rolling supports, most pipeline supports have a certain limiting effect on the displacement of the pipeline. This helps to maintain the stability of the pipeline system, prevent excessive shaking, deflection or torsion of the pipeline during operation, and avoid collision and damage to other equipment or building structures.
Compensation pipeline deformation: for the sliding support, rolling support and spring support that allow a certain amount of displacement, they can effectively compensate the deformation of the pipeline due to thermal expansion and cold contraction, medium pressure changes, foundation settlement and other reasons, reduce the stress concentration inside the pipeline, thereby extending the service life of the pipeline and reducing the cost of pipeline maintenance and replacement.
Damping buffer effect: the spring support and some specially designed supports have the function of damping buffer, which can absorb and attenuate the vibration energy generated by fluid pulsation and mechanical vibration during the operation of the pipeline system, reduce the impact of vibration on the pipeline, equipment and surrounding buildings, improve the stability and reliability of the pipeline system, and reduce noise pollution.
Material selection
Metal materials: commonly used metal materials are carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and so on. Carbon steel has the advantages of low cost and high strength, which is suitable for general industrial pipe and civil pipe system; Stainless steel has good corrosion resistance and is often used in situations with high requirements for pipeline materials, such as food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical industry, etc. Alloy steel has higher strength and special properties, such as high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, etc., suitable for some special industrial pipeline systems, such as high temperature and high pressure pipelines in petrochemical industry.
Non-metallic materials: such as polytetrafluoroethylene, rubber, etc. Polytetrafluoroethylene has very low friction coefficient and good chemical stability, and is often used as a slide material for sliding bearings. Rubber has good elasticity and shock absorption properties, and can be used to make some bearing parts with shock absorption buffer function or as an isolation layer between the pipe and the support to reduce the spread of vibration and noise.
